On 26-28 January 2026, the EUPEX team was in Krakow, Poland for HiPEAC 2026
EUPEX was proud to take part in HiPEAC 2026, one of Europe’s premier events for high-performance computing and computer architecture. The conference offered a great opportunity for the project to share its latest progress, connect with the community, and contribute to discussions on the future of European HPC.
The main highlight of EUPEX’s participation was the workshop “Preparing Applications and European Users to Efficiently Exploit Future ARM-based Exascale Machines,” organised by the project. The session showcased key results achieved throughout EUPEX, with a particular focus on tools, applications, and methodologies developed to help users prepare for next-generation ARM-based exascale systems. Participants discovered practical experiences in porting and optimising applications, along with insights into energy profiling and efficient performance strategies.
EUPEX was also represented during the workshop “RISC-V: the cornerstone ISA for the next generation of HPC infrastructures.” During the session on European HPC sovereignty, Etienne Walter (Eviden) presented both the European Processor Initiative and EUPEX Pilot projects, contributing to important conversations around RISC-V, European processor innovation, and technological autonomy.
The project further increased its visibility by participating in the poster session — and the EUPEX poster was hard to miss! Positioned right at the bottom of the stairs upon entering the first floor, it immediately caught attendees’ attention.
Overall, HiPEAC 2026 was a fantastic opportunity for EUPEX to present its achievements, strengthen connections within the HPC ecosystem, and continue supporting Europe’s path toward energy-efficient exascale computing.
