Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), a member of the Helmholtz Association, is one of the largest research centres in Europe. It pursues cutting-edge interdisciplinary research addressing the challenges facing society in the fields of health, energy and the environment, and information technologies. Within the Forschungszentrum, the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) is one of the three national supercomputing centres in Germany as part of the Gauss Centre for Supercomputing (GCS) and operates some of the highest performance computing systems in Europe.

CEA is a key player in research, development and innovation in four main areas: defence and security, low carbon energies (nuclear and renewable energies), technological research for industry, fundamental research in the physical sciences and life sciences. CEA is a major player all along the HPC value chain : core technology development and supercomputer co-design ; large infrastructures operations; applications in numerical simulation, data analytics and AI.

Since its creation in 2007 by the French authorities, GENCI is working to increase the use of numerical simulation and high performance computing (HPC) for boosting competitiveness within the French economy, across all scientific and industrial fields.
GENCI’s role is to implement the national strategy for equiping in HPC resources the three national computing centres and making the systems available for French researchers; to support the creation of an integrated European HPC ecosystem; to work to promote numerical simulation and high performance computing within the academic and industrial communities.
In EUPEX, GENCI is collaborating with INRIA.

Cineca, established in 1969, is a non-profit consortium of 70 Italian Universities, 9 national research institution, and the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR). Cineca is the largest Italian supercomputing centre with an HPC environment equipped with cutting-edge technology and highly-qualified personnel which cooperates with researchers in the use of the HPC infrastructure, in both the academic and industrial fields.​

The Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas, established in 1983, is one of the largest research centers in Greece with well organized facilities, highly qualified personnel and a reputation as a top-level research foundation worldwide. The mission of the Institute of Computer Science (ICS-FORTH) is to perform high quality basic and applied research, to promote education and training, and to contribute to the development of the Information Society, at a regional, national, and European level. ICS-FORTH has had a long history and recognized tradition in conducting basic and applied research, and playing a leading role, in Greece and internationally, in the field of Information and Communication Technologies.

CINI is a consortium of 47 Italian public universities, plus the CNR, and it is the main point of reference for the national academic research in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Information Technologies. It involves 1,300+ professors in different areas of expertise, promoting collaborations among members and joint participation in international projects. CINI participates in the EUPEX project with the brand new laboratory “HPC Key Technologies and Tools”, whose founding Director Prof. Marco Aldinucci is also involved in the EUPEX project. The HPC-KTT laboratory focuses on programming and execution models and tools, system software, software engineering for high performance, energy consumption reduction, cloud computing access systems. The laboratory is multi-disciplinary by design because it integrates into a single partner a selected number of research groups chosen in the research portfolio of over forty Italian universities. Specifically, research groups from the University of Pisa, Torino, and Bologna, and the Politecnico di Milano are involved in EUPEX.

The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) is an independent intergovernmental organisation supported by 35 states.
The organisation was established in 1975 and now employs around 390 staff from more than 30 countries.
ECMWF is headquartered in Reading, UK, with sites in Bologna, Italy, and Bonn, Germany.

ECMWF is both a research centre and a 24/7 operational service, producing and disseminating numerical weather predictions to its member states.
The Centre also offers a catalogue of forecast data that can be purchased by commercial customers.

IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center (IT4I) at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava is a leading research, development, and innovation centre active in the fields of HPC, HPDA, and AI and their application to other scientific fields, industry, and society. IT4I operates the most powerful supercomputing systems in the Czech Republic, which are provided to Czech and foreign research teams from both academia and industry. Together with the CESNET and CERIT-SC institutions, IT4Innovations constitutes e-INFRA CZ, a strategic research infrastructure of the Czech Republic.

As Croatia’s leading academic and research institution in the field of electrical engineering, computing, and information and communication technology, FER wants to be integrated and competitive in European higher education and research area; it wants to create new forms of knowledge transfer to the economy and to prompt economic and social activities of Croatia.

ParTec, one of the leading SMEs in the HPC domain in Europe and the specialist for modular supercomputing, develops and supports a comprehensive suite of HPC systems’ management tools and a runtime environment specifically tuned for the largest distributed-memory supercomputers in existence today and beyond.
ParTec’s unrivaled expertise in developing HPC software includes the self-developed ParaStation MPI and tools like TicketSuite and HealthChecker. In conjunction with professional services, consultancy, and support, ParTec was elected as the partner of choice in some of the leading HPC sites across Europe.

EXAPSYS (EXAscale Performance SYStems) plc is a start-up company exploiting several research results from FORTH and Synelixis Solutions SA, focusing on HPC systems and applications. The HPC and Embedded Systems group of Synelixis has moved to EXAPSYS, as well as researchers from TSI and FORTH. Moreover, the Synelixis’ IP from several Cloud and HPC projects has been transferred to EXAPSYS; similarly, EXAPSYS intends to use and exploit the results of FORTH from certain HPC projects. The aim of EXAPSYS is to develop highly parallel innovative applications for novel Cloud and HPC heterogeneous systems utilizing FPGAs and/or other accelerators (e.g. AI accelerators), meeting real industrial needs. The EXAPSYS core research and development team has extensive experience in developing a) Novel highly parallel applications for homogeneous and heterogeneous Systems, b) Efficient FPGA-based accelerators, c) Innovative Simulators for highly parallel heterogeneous systems.

The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) is a research institute for geophysics and volcanology in Italy.
INGV's main responsibilities within the Italian civil protection system are the maintenance and monitoring of the national networks for seismic and volcanic phenomena.

CybeleTech is a young SME that aims at developing the use of numerical technologies in agriculture. The core products of CybeleTech are based on either numerical simulations of plant growth through dedicated biophysical models or machine learning methods extracting knowledge on processes through large databases. These new technologies can bring added values at different stages of the agriculture chain: plant breeding, optimization of cultural practices, forecasting production at large scale.
